Our History
Blue Ridge X-Ray Co, Inc., DBA, Blue Ridge Imaging Technologies founded over 40 years ago.
Our primary focus in the beginning was as an Independent service organization servicing Philips equipment in hospitals.
Over time as the equipment needed to be replaced, we added radiology equipment lines primarily for the hospital market including X-ray, CT, R&F, C-Arms, etc. For several years we were Shimadzu dealers then Siemens dealers until Siemens went to an agent rather than full dealer model where they would do all the service. We have always believed it is important to our customers for us to service what we sell. Also, during the last 20 years, smaller x-ray dealers were consolidating with larger dealers, as the technology was changing going from analog to digital with the accompanying reduction in film and chemistry and film processors and the increase of infrastructure/capital requirements necessary to support digital technology.
Blue Ridge combined with 7 dealers during this time period and many of our current sales/management team has had their own company at one time — they understand the market requirements and importance of customer service.
These new Blue Ridge team members also brought their experience in the ambulatory market where they were most active — and we saw the growth opportunity there as patient care was moving from inpatient to outpatient.
We began a greater focus, but not abandoning hospitals, or physicians’ offices both single and multi specialty,imaging centers, chiropractors, podiatrists and veterinarians.
We sourced equipment that was best suited for these providers and their patients with leading edge technology and cost in mind. It had to be reliable and installed and supported by factory trained field service and in-house IT professionals.
With the move to digital technology and with the reduction in mechanical components and the advantage of having remote access via the Internet we were able to sell to and support customers outside of our traditional Southeast focus. We now offer our imaging solutions on a national basis.
Over the past few years we found that there still was a need for imaging systems better tailored for the ambulatory market — 10 years ago we began our own exclusive private label line of radiologic systems we trade marked as PINNACLE®. By doing this we are not bound to any particular manufacturer but can always offer a better configuration. In addition, we are able to negotiate very attractive pricing from manufacturers with our volume purchases and we can specify to the manufacturer the features and options that are most desirable to our customers.
Over these 40 years we have always had a central focus of outstanding customer service. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
